so apparently, luke newberry, who plays an openly queer teen in a show about a marginalized group’s fight for liberation, is losing in the radiotimes poll to a guy who’s starring in 50 shades of grey as the aggressor in an abusive relationship
this is just fucking perfect
fuck ok luke’s behind again
guys come on if he advances maybe the bbc’ll notice his popularity caused by in the flesh (which implies that the show itself is popular) and decide to keep it going
and, if in the flesh gets another season due to popularity, it’ll show the people making decisions in media that you can have complicated female characters who aren’t reduced to love interests, can have real character development, can have openly queer characters in a relationship without making it the show’s plot, and can have characters with mental illnesses and not make that their only “interesting” characteristic without risking ratings, but rather increasing them
i mean, fuck, this could open doorways toproper representation in other forms of media why aren’t you all up in arms about this too
"We need to save In The Flesh! We need a season three!" - In The Flesh fans
# s a v e i n t he f l e s h
Hey there guys! You may have seen this post scrolling around Tumblr lately. Recently I have been talking to intheflesh-artabout this video idea I’ve got, and I need you — In The Flesh fans — to help me make this video possible!
So, what I’m basically asking for is for those who have millions of feels for the show, a character, a pairing (Siren! Kick! Philmy! Jery!) or even about the actors, to tell ON VIDEO (please make sure your audio is good), why we need a season three. This video is to tell what we all love about the show that makes you want a season 3! This is to (hopefully) help get us a season 3 of In The Flesh! Or to help push towards it.
This video will be tweeted to the cast of ITF (Luke Newberry, Emmett Scanlan, Harriet Cains, etc) and even the director of the show (Dominic Mitchell) as well as @bbcthree! I hope to also send it to the BBCThree via Tumblr.
All this requires is;
An inbox message to me telling me that you’re interested. That way I can write down each persons URL so for future reference, I can find each person and ask for your clip. :)
A video of you describing what you love. We will only be needing 30 seconds of you telling us why (we expect multiple people from the fandom pitching in!) we need a season three! We ask that you upload your video to Youtube (you can make this video privately posted so no one has to see it except for those you give the link to). OR, if you are uncomfortable with this process, I can give you my Skype so you do not have to worry about posting it and you can send it directly to me. I know we may not be using the videos and maybe just the audio, but in case we do, we ask that you make sure both are good. Please also keep in mind that not everything in these 30 seconds will be used. So make sure everything you say is 100% honest. :)
Last but not least, I’d like to see everyone contributing to this to also contribute to this blog and it’s amazing ideas for showing the BBC3 just how much In The Flesh fans love it. Look at all the graphics and art!
BEFORE I CONTINUE: IF YOU CAN’T FILM YOURSELF. That’s okay. I understand because not everyone has a camera. To keep this from leaving you out, you can give me what you’d like to say, and I can record myself saying it for you. I would be crediting you, putting your Tumblr URL on the right hand side (at the bottom) of your clip so people know who’s all talking.
Like other art pieces and fanfiction, this video will be posted in intheflesh-art's blog and viewed by everyone who passes this video on this page! Enough word and hopefully this video will be a big hit!
Because this project is starting today (2014/07/21), I would like to get the entire video done by August 26th. This way it gives everyone a month to get an idea of what they’d like to say. I would like to also have your guys’ clips in my August 24th 11:59pm Eastern Time (I’m in Canada). If you are not able to send the clips in by then, I can take late senders. It’s no problem to shove a clip into the correct place and watch it go well. <3
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ THIS!
I hope to hear from the In The Flesh fans! #saveintheflesh

a support group for vampires who were turned as children or adolescents. a bunch of small, melancholy kid-shaped vampires sitting around in somebody’s living room talking very seriously in tiny voices about current events in the vampire world. a lot of them dress like grandmas because they are as old as a grandma, maybe even ten grandmas. they have a network system where they can call adult-looking vampires to help them get things, drive places, pretend to be parents so child-looking vampires can get into adult movies
the weirdest shit about the whole “your fave is problematic” thing is that y’all hunt down minor details about the past of celebrities while also refusing to acknowledge how you acted like two years ago
